We are delighted to announce that Lascivious will be working with the illustrious conservation charity, the Elephant Family on their latest, most magnificent project, The Animal Ball, to be held at a magical London location on Tuesday 9th July 2013.The brand were tasked to create a bespoke pair of masks that reflect our interpretation of an endangered animal - to be gifted to guests paying to attend the nights full festivities, providing the ultimate in conservation chic.

Lascivious Director, Chloe Hamblen says, "We wanted the masks to contain an abstract element, and a nod to extinction itself. Where beautiful, iconic creatures are consigned to history books, leaving only pictures, skins, teeth and make-believe. Such is the reality without urgent intervention. We chose to create a pair of dragon masks - potent, mythical creatures; fitting for a grand ball, but with a very real counterpart in the endangered Kimodo dragon."

The masks were on display in London’s Sotheby’s Auction House alongside designs from Manolo Blahnik, Mario Testino, Matthew Williamson, Missoni, Lulu Guiness, Philip Treacy and Christian Lacroix to name a few. The brand were thrilled to contribute towards such an amazing cause.

When Lascivious suggested that they had a collection in mind that we could collaborate on, I was thrilled. I chose just one photograph from the SS13 collection in the end. For me, the most striking... glamour meets cyberspace, the modern twist on the infamous pinup girl! 

I wanted to intensify her sensuality, create more layers of identity and give it a sense of time and space. Chloe (Creative Director and founder of Lascivious) mentioned that some of the inspiration for this collection came from looking at shadows of palmtrees and how they form patterns on surfaces. This made me think of LA and its multifaceted personality that I have discovered over the past 19 years.

LA is a city that reveals itself over time. Full of cliches and tacky expectations, and yet very intimate, its real life carefully wrapped up within the insular layers of subcultures that exist there. Alike, this multilayered deconstructed visualisation of Los Angeles through the prism of my own interpretations unveils slowly, only to those who really take the time to look.

What I find most extraordinary and easy to relate to in LA is a sense of space once you leave the busy murmur of the city. The silence of hills with endless trails and a few kind smiles to greet you on your way. A harmony of modernist architecture set within the fluidity of hills. A trace of history hidden in carefully tucked away corners of the city, quietly sailing through time. The environment has evolved in stages in and around the initial photograph to become what it is: a little bit of everything I most cherish about this city. The 'cyber girl' seems to be having a good time hanging out on the scene.

Quite unexpectedly this collaboration has led me to start a series of drawings dedicated to Los Angeles. They will be on show at the end of March at Poke. (www.pokelondon.com)

Recently FACTORY311 devised a project called "Endless Summer" with one thing in mind - Sunshine! The team took some time out over winter to explore the big city of Los Angeles.

Nicholas Hardy (Creative Director and Founder of 311) explains...

'we never had any real plan apart from do as many cool projects and meet as many people and companies as possible throughout the 5 week trip. We hit the ground running, meeting with magazines and companies, attending trade shows getting the word out that 311 was in LA.'

Having worked with Lascivious on their recent AW13 campaign, Factory311 were keen to collaborate with the brand further and took Lascivious lingerie samples with them to shoot whilst on location. Whilst there Tom Fraud was commissioned to shoot Nazanin Mandi for Unleashed magazine. Tom also had the pleasure in working with international model Rosie Roff and shot a series of stories in some amazing locations including a rooftop downtown overlooking the Eastern, The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood and the Old Stock Exchange - all featuring gorgeous lingerie from Lascivious.
